Edges for Realsies!
October 24, 2008So Edgeheads, after a year of waiting, and a whole lotta spread out rehearsal, we finally had our first show this past Monday! And holy crap it was great! Before Monday, I had been thinking about Monday every single day of being on that Disney ship. Every single crazy wig, every time I watched Rachel Fischer’s pyro not work from inside Slinky Butt, even every single time i was in my crazy 30,000$ Belle gown, i was looking forward to Monday. And then Monday happened, and now we’re doing edges… like… for realsies.
I wish I came up with ‘edges for realsies’ but i have to credit it to my little bro. When Sara and I performed at our crazy high school anniversary celebration, Jake came to the conclusion that whole evening featuring diverse performances of Earl Haig alumni was like a high school assembly… but ‘for realsies’.
Considering last year when Sares and I put on this little show ourselves at the Centre for the Arts, and when I think about that crazy hot night where it felt like our Bikram Yoga studio and the elevator wasn’t working making guests walk up 5 flights of stairs, i’m like HOLY CRAP! THIS IS EDGES FOR REALSIES!
In other news, it’s not for sure at all yet, but i may possibly be doing an interview for CBC Radio…. IN FRENCH! This makes me pee just a little bit because I haven’t had a french conversation like this since I tried to convince the Montrealers that I was a local… And it didn’t last long because they didn’t believe me!!!
Anyway, the CBC producer called me today to sort of ‘screen’ me to see if I was going to be okay… I have yet to hear, but i definitely didn’t fail! I was pretty decent in our conversation and said things like “entre une comedie musical et un concert de rock”, and “4 personnes dans leurs vaintaines qui sont tous peurs d’entrer la prochaine etage de leurs vies”. The only thing is I don’t know how to pronounce the word “Edges”. I could be TOTALLY “hon hon hon” and put the emphasis on the “ges” of Edges making it sound like a french name… which I kind of want to do just to make my Edgy folk laugh a little… and by a little I mean like jerks…
Also if this interview does happen I’m determined to find a way to put “pamplemousse” in… I don’t know how so if anyone has any ideas on how a grapefruit can be used in an Edges interview please let me know!
Alrighty, I’m watching Food Network Cake Making Challenge: Disney Villains and Cruella’s not looking so hot… I’m gonna get back to the action… HOW WILL IT END???
Aight peeps, come to the show. Definitely come to the show. If you’re reading this blog and haven’t come to the show you’re taking advantage of my witty writing… so come to the show. Sara, you’re the only one who reads these blogs and you’re already at the show so you can enjoy the blog all you want!! ![]()
Happy Edges days!
